Road Funding Announcement - Spring 2026

This map details the principal programmes of investment which will be delivered by the Road Investment Strategy 3 (RIS3) published March 2026. Backed by over £27 billion of investment, the strategy outlines the government's plans for operating, renewing and improving the Strategic Road Network (SRN) in England.

The map also details the schemes that will be funded through the Major Road Network and Large Local Majors (MRN/LLM) programme which supports both renewal and enhancement schemes on the local road network in England.

Together, this represents a commitment of up to £29 billion of government funding to improve the SRN and local roads.
